CAST consists of ten members who manage the overall daily operations of the Robert M. Berne Cardiovascular Research Center (CVRC) and the Beirne B. Carter Immunology Center (CIC), which consists 19 faculty labs and 250+ staff, students, and volunteers. CAST specifically manages all Finance, Grants Administration, HR and Operational aspects, which includes but is not limited to – financial planning, pre/post award, compliance, event coordination, graduate program administration, recruitment, hiring, data entry and database maintenance, employee relations, performance planning, training, time management and entry, immigration compliance, procurement, IT (data and telephony), web site design and maintenance, risk analysis and management, core management and usage, document retention and filing, basic and advanced administrative services (advanced services based upon grant core supplement), equipment purchase and maintenance, renovations, facility management, security management, and space allocation and management.
